Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, or using SR-7 ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

SR-7 is a native audio recorder for macOS and iOS. The App provides:

• High-fidelity audio recording with pause, resume, and real-time metering
• On-device transcription via the Apple Speech framework
• AI-generated titles and summaries via Apple FoundationModels (macOS 26+)
• Variable-speed playback with waveform scrubbing
• Project-based organization with full-text search
• iCloud sync across Apple devices via CloudKit
• Markdown library export with YAML front matter
• USB and MTP audio import (macOS)
• Local MCP server for AI tool integration (macOS)

Features may vary between platforms and OS versions. AI summaries require macOS 26 or later and Apple Intelligence.

The App requires:

• iOS: iOS 26 or later
• macOS: macOS 26 or later

AI summaries require Apple Intelligence. On-device transcription requires sufficient device storage for language models. iCloud sync requires an active iCloud account.

You retain full ownership of all recordings, transcriptions, summaries, and any other content you create with the App. We claim no rights to your content.

• Your recordings are stored on your device and optionally in your iCloud account
• We do not have access to, and cannot recover, your recordings
• You are responsible for backing up your data
• Deleting recordings from the App removes them permanently; iCloud sync propagates deletions across devices

You are solely responsible for complying with all applicable laws regarding audio recording, including:

• Consent requirements for recording conversations (which vary by jurisdiction)
• Workplace recording policies
• Privacy laws and regulations in your location

SR-7 is a tool; how you use it is your responsibility. We do not monitor, review, or have access to your recordings.

The optional MCP server feature on macOS exposes your recordings, transcriptions, and summaries to local AI tools via a localhost HTTP server.

• You are responsible for understanding what connected AI tools do with your data
• Some AI tools may transmit data to cloud services for processing
• We are not responsible for how third-party AI tools handle your data
• The MCP server is off by default and must be explicitly enabled

The Markdown library sync feature writes files to a folder you designate. You are responsible for the security and privacy of the export location. If the folder is synced by a third-party service (e.g. Dropbox, iCloud Drive), that service's terms apply to the exported files.

The App, including its design, code, and branding, is the intellectual property of Field Bureau & Werkstatt LLC. You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works based on the App without explicit written permission.

The transcriptions and summaries generated from your recordings belong to you.

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from the use of the App, including but not limited to:

• Loss or corruption of recordings, transcriptions, or other data
• Inaccurate transcriptions or AI-generated summaries
• iCloud sync failures or delays
• Incompatibility with third-party tools connected via MCP
• Legal consequences arising from your recording activities
• Device storage or performance issues

SR-7 may offer free and paid tiers. Pricing, feature availability, and subscription terms will be communicated within the App and on the App Store listing. Apple's standard subscription terms apply to any in-app purchases.

If you participate in the SR-7 beta program:

• Beta versions may contain bugs and are not guaranteed to be stable
• Data created in beta versions may not be compatible with future releases
• We may collect crash reports and diagnostic data during the beta period (via Apple TestFlight)
• Beta access may be revoked at any time

We may update the App and these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after updates constitutes acceptance of any changes. Updates will be distributed through the App Store.

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. Your locally stored recordings remain on your device after uninstallation. iCloud data follows Apple's standard iCloud data retention policies.
