Privacy Policy

The following data is created and processed entirely on your device:

If you enable iCloud sync, SR-7 uses Apple's CloudKit to synchronize your recordings, transcriptions, and metadata across your Apple devices.

• Data is synced directly between your devices via Apple's iCloud infrastructure
• We do not operate sync servers and cannot access your iCloud data
• iCloud data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple
• You can disable iCloud sync at any time in the App or in system settings
• Apple's iCloud terms and privacy policy govern this data in transit and storage

SR-7 can auto-export recordings as Markdown files with YAML front matter to a folder you choose on your device.

• You control which folder files are written to
• Exported files stay on your local filesystem (or wherever that folder syncs to, e.g. Obsidian, Dropbox)
• SR-7 does not upload these files anywhere

SR-7 can optionally run a local HTTP server implementing the Model Context Protocol (MCP), allowing AI tools and agents on your machine to access your recordings, transcriptions, and summaries.

• The server runs locally on your Mac and is not accessible from the internet
• You must explicitly enable this feature; it is off by default
• Data is served only to tools running on your local machine
• No data is transmitted to remote servers by the MCP server itself
• What connected AI tools do with the data depends on their own privacy policies

If you connect SR-7's MCP server to an AI tool that uses cloud processing, your data may leave your device through that tool. Review the privacy practices of any AI tools you connect.

SR-7 can import audio files from USB drives and Android devices via MTP. Imported files are copied into your local SR-7 library. The original files on the connected device are not modified or deleted.

The App may request the following system permissions:

You can revoke any permission at any time through your device's system settings.

SR-7 does not collect, store, or transmit:

• Usage analytics or telemetry data
• Device identifiers or fingerprints
• Location data
• Contact or address book information
• Browsing or search history
• Advertising identifiers

If you choose to send us feedback from within the App, the following is transmitted to our server:

• Your message text
• Your email address (if you provide it)
• App version and system information (if you opt in)

This is the only data SR-7 sends to our servers, and only when you explicitly choose to submit feedback. See our support page for more information.

Your data is protected by multiple layers:

• All processing happens on-device within Apple's app sandbox
• iCloud data is encrypted by Apple in transit and at rest
• The MCP server binds only to localhost and is inaccessible from the network
• No remote servers means no server-side data breaches
• You maintain complete control over your recordings at all times

SR-7 is a recording tool. You are solely responsible for complying with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction regarding the recording of audio, including conversations, meetings, interviews, and phone calls.

Many jurisdictions require the consent of one or all parties before a conversation may be recorded. Laws vary significantly by country, state, and context. Some key considerations:

• One-party vs. all-party consent: Some jurisdictions require only one participant (you) to consent; others require all participants to be informed and agree
• Workplace policies: Your employer may have policies that restrict or govern recording in the workplace
• Public vs. private settings: Different rules may apply depending on whether you are in a public or private space
• Cross-border considerations: If participants are in different jurisdictions, the most restrictive laws may apply

We strongly recommend that you always inform all parties and obtain their consent before making any recording. When in doubt, ask first.

SR-7 does not collect personal information from any user. The App is suitable for users of all ages. No special provisions for children's data are needed as no data collection occurs during normal use.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
