Who Can Comment
Every frame has a comment thread on its page. You can comment on someone’s frame when they follow you; your own frames are always open to you.
A frame on Discover or Featured can be seen by anyone, but the conversation under it stays between the owner and the people the owner follows.
If you try to comment on a frame whose owner doesn’t follow you, the app says so.
Writing a Comment
A comment is plain text: up to 500 characters, no links. Captions work the same way.
Removing Comments
You can delete your own comments anywhere, any time. On your own frames you can also remove anyone else’s comment. Deleted comments are gone, no tombstone left behind.
Hearing About Comments
When someone comments on one of your frames, fewer.photos can email you, with the comment quoted so you know whether it can wait. Once you’ve commented on someone else’s frame, you hear about the comments that follow yours as well, so a conversation you joined doesn’t carry on without you. Like every notification email, both are on by default and have their own switches in Settings. The details live in Hashtags, RSS, and Notifications.
